Yes, the title really does say it all, this time. Rift (or RIFT, or Rift: Planes of Telaria, or Whatever: Who Cares: The Not Caring Edition) is due to have it’s head start start at the end of the week (Friday Local time, but I also have to download the client, so ::::/ ) and I’ve got a copy, so I can give my impressions.
I didn’t play enough of the Beta/s to write a post or five about it, so I will attempt to do… something, with Rift. Hopefully more than I did with Final Fantasy XIV (which I played a bit of today, they’ve actually made it considerably better since launch, although it still has the big issue of ‘crashing’ whenever the window loses focus, which is annoying, to say the least).
Anyway, getting back to the point, which was, if I remember correctly, that there is no point and I am just posting because I like to bang on my drum (or blog) and make sweet sweet music (or flush words from brain bluh).
I’ve been getting back into the swing of healing in WoW again, but I feel the need to remind people in a aggressive passive-aggressive manner about Marking and CC, so obviously I’m not entirely on my game yet (because if I was it would not be an issue, right? I’d just be shooting heals out like a pro while baking all the cakes and knitting a sweater or something (I don’t know how to knit, I would probably write a several thousand word essay on how easy healing is though)).
I’ve started to solo-farm Burning Crusade Heroics for Rep and rare drops on Selite, which feels pretty good being a squishy cloth-wearer. That is the upside to Cataclysm’s general ‘everyone should have 100k health-ish at 85′ philosophy.
In general, I haven’t had much trouble with any pulls, although you do have to be a little bit careful with larger pulls, especially ones with lots of physical mobs (the Mana Wyrms before Anomolus in MGT come to mind), as they still cut though you like a hot knife through butter.
As arcane, I suggest using your Polymorph in an offensive manner (making sure you have picked up the Improved Polymorph talent (3s stun when a poly is broken by damage), as this makes things easier), but for the most part you can just brute force almost every encounter.
I haven’t soloed everything yet (my focus has been solely on Coilfang for Cenarion Expedition Rep, and Magister’s Terrace, for the Phoenix Hatching.
Anyway, I am tired and running out of words to blub about (also ALL THE TYPOS), so here ends this post. Aye, that’ll do. I would expect words about either FFXIV or my acquisition of all the levels in the relatively nearby future.
