Welcome to the first post in a series chronicling my adventures playing Guild Wars. Now, ultimately my goal is to fill out my Hall of Monuments, starting with (basically) nothing, and reaching the lofty heights of at least 30 reward points.
To fill out the HoM, I need to complete a large number of tasks. But before I really worry about that, my first goal is to complete at least the Prophecies and Eye of the North campaigns, perhaps working on Factions & Nightfall at my leisure.
My primary character for this task (as HoM progress is at the account level), is (surprise surprise) Selite Amalth, Elementalist (/Monk), and her merry band of Heroes/Companion characters, that allow her to solo most of the things. Which is good. That’s what we want to be able to do.
Additionally, I plan to start a character to work on the ‘Legendary Defender of Ascalon’ title (reach level 20 (140,600 XP) in pre-searing Ascalon), which shouldn’t be particularly difficult, but will be very time-consuming.
Anyway, to begin with I have 4 HoM reward points. 3 from ‘linking my account’ (which is automagically applied to everyone as it’s required to obtain GW2 rewards – obviously I’ve not linked accounts yet because GW2 isn’t out yet), and another 1 for adding my first companion (Hero) statue to the Monument of Fellowship.
As for progress toward finishing my first campaign (Prophecies), I am about half-way through, having finished Aurora Glade (which I believe is mission #12 out of 25) yesterday (and may be another mission or two ahead by the time you read this).
My goal is to reach Ascension by next week, but we will see how it turns out, I guess.
