AE Does Some Talky Words

Only a day left on that poll, and this episode probably isn’t going to make any difference. /shrug (although in it’s current form it’s pretty handy for me not to do jack all, so whatever)

Linky.

Regarding Dominion

It is pretty fucking awesome, you guys. You should go play it or something. It’s quick! Everyone loves quick games! Like, 20-30 minutes. And you’ll probably be loving it the whole time. Maybe. I dunno. /shrug

But yeah, played like… 8 games or so of Dominion. It’s pretty good fun. Respawns are quick, which is good because I am terrible. (But who cares).

And, despite it’s obvious influences, because the game is so fast paced, you’re never really looking at the scoreline. Which makes it really sad when you lose with like 10HP on the enemy’s nexus. D:

Anyway, Dominion is pretty okay, and you should probably try it or something.

Working Without a Backlog is Dangeresque

Yeah, the title really says it, huh? I’m sorry about the delay on the last few posts for 20 Days of Blogging (closer to 7 months of blogging, orz), I’m currently having a bad case of real life, and/or October-Flu (which, given the weather here the past few days, isn’t entirely silly).

Anyway, expect some fashion tips in the next 24 hours or so, and the final post/s by mondayish.

Post 100! (For values of 100 = 103)

Yes, this is like my 103rd post at Arcane Envoy. I think I need to make a nice celebratory cake or something. I fucking love cake. In the meantime, we shall celebrate the only way I know how.

Wait, I am shit at parties, what do you think, Pinky Pie?

I dunno, you're writing my dialouge, remember?

FFFFUUUUUU- Oh well. Enjoy that one Human Pinky Pie.

20DoB 2: Genesis

Yeah, okay, day 2. Dang, this is already feeling like a chore, huh? :3 Feel like I need to mix this through with some real content, which will have the unintended side effect of making me want to delay writing these more. Therefore I’ll just keep churning these out, and perhaps my post on what bothers me about Dragon Age 2 (because I don’t think I ever really elaborated on that) can come later.

So, today’s prompt is, ‘Why you decided to start a blog’. This is a good question, and one I have been asked at least once by somebody very close to me (hint: it is also me).

Ultimately, I think I started it on a bit of a lark (for fun). I’d tried my hand at blogging in the past, but I felt I needed a bit more motivation to do stuff, and I subsequently bought a domain, and started doing this.

Yeah, it’s a really cool story, I know. I think I really only started to get into the blogging scene after I started writing this, so I can’t really say that I have all these inspirations from other blogs, but I can definitely say that the people I’ve found have been amazing, and made me want to do better (which leads to the infamous ‘I need to make this post better and/or have pictures’ loop, which is why I very rarely update with any editing sweeps or pictures, because I need to update RIGHT AWAY, you guys, otherwise it just doesn’t happen)

But yeah. Ultimately, it’s because I really like procrastinating, and this is a great way to procrastinate, while also kinda doing something productive. (It also shows that this is actually important to me, as I tend to procrastinate with it, too)

In Which Things Are Said, and I Make A Pact to Play Another Game

Yes, the title really does say it all, this time. Rift (or RIFT, or Rift: Planes of Telaria, or Whatever: Who Cares: The Not Caring Edition) is due to have it’s head start start at the end of the week (Friday Local time, but I also have to download the client, so ::::/ ) and I’ve got a copy, so I can give my impressions.

I didn’t play enough of the Beta/s to write a post or five about it, so I will attempt to do… something, with Rift. Hopefully more than I did with Final Fantasy XIV (which I played a bit of today, they’ve actually made it considerably better since launch, although it still has the big issue of ‘crashing’ whenever the window loses focus, which is annoying, to say the least).

Anyway, getting back to the point, which was, if I remember correctly, that there is no point and I am just posting because I like to bang on my drum (or blog) and make sweet sweet music (or flush words from brain bluh).

I’ve been getting back into the swing of healing in WoW again, but I feel the need to remind people in a aggressive passive-aggressive manner about Marking and CC,  so obviously I’m not entirely on my game yet (because if I was it would not be an issue, right? I’d just be shooting heals out like a pro while baking all the cakes and knitting a sweater or something (I don’t know how to knit, I would probably write a several thousand word essay on how easy healing is though)).

I’ve started to solo-farm Burning Crusade Heroics for Rep and rare drops on Selite, which feels pretty good being a squishy cloth-wearer. That is the upside to Cataclysm’s general ‘everyone should have 100k health-ish at 85′ philosophy.

In general, I haven’t had much trouble with any pulls, although you do have to be a little bit careful with larger pulls, especially ones with lots of physical mobs (the Mana Wyrms before Anomolus in MGT come to mind), as they still cut though you like a hot knife through butter.

As arcane, I suggest using your Polymorph in an offensive manner (making sure you have picked up the Improved Polymorph talent (3s stun when a poly is broken by damage), as this makes things easier), but for the most part you can just brute force almost every encounter.

I haven’t soloed everything yet (my focus has been solely on Coilfang for Cenarion Expedition Rep, and  Magister’s Terrace, for the Phoenix Hatching.

Anyway, I am tired and running out of words to blub about (also ALL THE TYPOS), so here ends this post. Aye, that’ll do. I would expect words about either FFXIV or my acquisition of all the levels in the relatively nearby future.

Back, once again.

Yes, the horrible server goblins have finally allowed me to start blogging again! Hooray! Not much to say here. Changed the theme somewhat, blah blah.

I don’t want to call this a ‘relaunch’, but the idea is to start up with more content, and with a fair amount of it being not-WoW related. Suck it up. Is it a great idea? Probably not, but hey, I’ll be posting about gaming, it’s not like I’m going to suddenly become a blog about Baking or something.

With that in mind, I have a grand tour of some Minecraft stuff, because Minecraft is awesome, and stuff. (The 2nd and third parts are linked inside the description)

Minecraft Video Part 1

Anyway, once I think of some more content (v. soon), I’ll post again.

Fighting off death

At least, fighting off blogdeath. In the next few days I will post another couple of posts detailing what Selite has been up to (in both an RP and a ‘real’ context), and some analysis of the 3.0.6 changes for Holy Paladins (Divine Plea changes).

But yes. This is a post, and I am posting. BLAH BLAH FISH.

The Final Countdown

Yes, Cataclysm is (as of posting this article) less than a day away. As I write this, it is just (not quite) ticking over to December 7th in Asstralia, and through my amazing powers of knowing when Cataclysm comes out, I can deduce that it is a mere 19 hours away. Not long now, team.

To tide you over, here is a really shit poem.

It was the night before Cataclysm, and all through the world, I really hate making, stupid poem.

Here is another.

A review, of not cataclysm, this way comes, only about thirty-six hours away, it doth be.

See, I’m trying to bring more content to the table. Just… not particularly hard. Yes, at some stage on Wednesday, I will be posting a review (hopefully the first of many mid-week non-Warcraft posts) of the wonderful game Minecraft (spoilers: I fucking love it).

Not Quite Dead (Just Crazy)

Yes, yes, reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated. I did want to write a few blog posts about NaNoWriMoing, but I kinda spent all my energy writing my NaNo, and never had a chance to get back to here.

So, I am about 500 words away from ‘winning’ (according to the official validator) and have decided to give myself a quick break to write out a quick blog post.

4.0.3a has hit, it kinda sucks, fuck the alliance NPCs, new leveling flow, etc etc. (Specifically, Stonetalon has risen from 15-25ish to 28+ish, and I got owned. Then I ran out to the barrens, and there was an Alliance town with ?? guards. FML)

In more awesome news, the new Cooking and Fishing dailies (that give new chef tokens for Cata recipes & just involve being more fishing dailies, respectively) are in, and apart from the whole ‘HALF FREE SKILLUPS FOR THE NOOBS WITH LESS THAN 450 COOKING’ (my fishing is ‘only’ in it’s 430s. What can I say, it takes a metric fucktonne of catches for 1 skillup above 400).

In blog-style news, the ‘new’ design (it’s based off of the current ‘twentyten’ skin, as I realized that layout wise, I really like this, and it really just needed a reskin + some fancy graphics) is almost ready to go, and should be live in time for LOLCAT.

In addition, I will be posting a regular (at least once a week through Dec & Jan) series called (only slightly unimaginatively) Travels In A Shattered World. I was thinking the first post would be on the 6th, and then Monday & Friday through Febuary, but at the very least there will be a week or two’s worth of break over Christmas, as I have to go to the stupid Gold Coast, where it is highly likely to be even more fucking hot.

ANYWAY – that about wraps it up. Catch you in about a week for the unveiling of the new skin, which will underwhelm you in ways that only I can underwhelm.
